The US biopesticide company, AgraQuest (Davis, California), is to launch its plant-derived insecticide/acaricide, Requiem (Chenopodium ambrosioides extract), on a range of fruit and vegetables in the US in 2009. The product received EPA food-use approvals in December, with the first state registrations expected in Florida and Arizona. Other state approvals should follow in the first quarter of 2009, allowing sales throughout the US, AgraQuest notes. Introduction in selected global markets should follow in 2010.
