Vineyard effluents: applying the principles of effluent management to a specific type of farming.

ITV France, the French vine and wine technical and interprofessional institute, provides here some advice on the management of plant protection product effluents in vineyards. The article analyses the specific characteristics of vineyard farming (e.g. spraying equipment less well-suited to on-plot rinsing than in other types of farming). Practical advice is then given on how to choose and implement one of the three strategies identified (total management on the plot, purification on the farm, transfer to a specialized processing plant) or on how to obtain an optimum combination of two of these..
