摘要

Various high-energy diffractive processes-elastic hadron scattering, diffraction dissociation, deep inelastic lepton-hadron (or forward Compton) scattering, diffractive deep inelastic scattering, and vector meson photoproduction-are considered from a unique point of view,, namely, the Regge pole model. It is shown that they all can (and should)be attributed to the same object-the vacuum Regge-Pomeranchuk pole. The role of the s-channel unitarity and (anti) shadowing is discussed, and the quark-parton model of rising cross sections, as well as its interpretation in quantum chromodynamics, is presented.
