摘要

This paper focuses on analysis of mechanical and dimensional properties of single jersey fabrics using three different yarn types such as carded combed and compact. For this purpose, fibre type of organic 100% cotton has been used. An attempt has beenmade with the count of 30s were selected to receive the results with respect to yarn fineness. The fabrics of three different yarn types have been subjected to pretreatment (scouring and beaching) and its effect also were studied. This was followed by biowash, which was considered to be an important factor for analyzing mechanical properties. It was noted that the effect of yarn twist factor on properties of knitted fabric is significant. The experiment showed that the bursting strength is higher in the fabric made of compact yarn in all stages. It was also found that the fabric with biofinishes has lower tendency of pilling. Lower spirality % is evident in closed knitted structure as the movement of knitted loop is restricted.
