摘要

Fifty year's after the United Nations set out to solve the problem of world hunger, 700 million are still hungry, malnutrition will prevent 180 million children from reaching mental or physical maturity and 40,000 people, mostly women and children, die every day of starvation or from food- or water-related disease. As the world prepares to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Quebec City in October, organizations involved in trying to provide food security for the developing nations are asking themselves, what happened to the 1945 dream of 'food foi all'.
