摘要

New ligand 3-amino-6,8-dibromo-2-methylquinazolin-4(3H)-one (L) has been synthesized in good yield by the reaction of methyl 3,5-dibromoanthranilate with acetic anhydride, followed by the replacement of oxygen with nitrogen of hydrazine. When the ligand reacts with Co(H), Zn(II), and Cu(II), new complexes are formed. The chemical structures of all prepared compounds were characterized by IR, elemental analysis, 1H NMR, "C NMR, GC-MS, and UV/visible spectra; in addition, metal to ligand molar ratios M : L were determined. The free ligand and obtained metal complexes were tested in Vitro against a number of microorganisms, including Gram positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus species and Enterococcus feacalis), Gram negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Klehsiella pneumonia, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa), and fungi (Candida alhicans) in order to assess antimicrobial properties. All complexes showed considerable activity against all test bacteria.
