The country's largest offshore licensing offer in recent history i has succeeded in pushing the search into frontier areas and in attracting new explorers,the department of trade and industry (dti) says.if all offers are taken up,the 22nd round will see a total of 163 blocks and part-blocks awarded,under 97 licences.of the 58 successful companies,15 are newcomers to uk waters.
