South Sudan aims to restore crude production to its full capacity of 350,000- 370,000 b/d by mid-2019, petroleum minister Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth says. The rehabilitation of fields and resumption of production after years of civil war is going well, Gatkuoth says. President Salva Kiir’s appointment of a designated force to guard oil installations and fields has stabilised the security situation, he says. With the help of Sudan’s state-owned 2B Opco, production is ramping up faster than anticipated.
