Miller talks up China gas progress

Russia’s state-controlled Gazprom is making progress in talks with China’s state-owned CNPC on gas supplies through the planned 30bn m~3/yr Power of Siberia 2 (PoS 2) pipeline, formerly known as the Altai route. Gazprom chief executive Alexei Miller met executives of CNPC and state-controlled PetroChina on 26 and 18 August, respectively, ahead of President Vladimir Putin’s visit to China on 3 September, during which an initial agreement signed in May is supposed to be finalised.
