Ofshore exploration gathers pace

Exploration of Suriname is picking up pace, ahead of new drilling by Malaysian state-owned Petronas and UK independent Tullow Oil. US independent Apache has struck more oil, its third discovery of Suriname this year, at the Kwaskwasi-1 well at Block 58 that was sunk by the Noble Sam Croft drillship. Apache operates the block with a 50pc stake. Total holds the other 50pc.
