BP makes lower-carbon business case

BP has set out its business case for reinvention into an international energy company(IEC)making profit in a low-carbon world.But analysts say investors will need to see firm evidence of BP delivering on its targets.BP unveiled the key targets of its new strategy last month well in advance of its long-planned strategy event on 14-16 September,with reinforced emission cut pledges alongside a headline-grabbing plan to cut its oil and gas production by 40pc,increase low-carbon investment tenfold to $5bn/yr and boosting twentyfold its net renewable power generation capacity to 50GW-all by 2030.The September event became BP's opportunity to convince investors that it could move"from excitement to execution".
