The 25th Anniversary of the Growth Hormone Research Society Lisbon, Portugal, May 20, 2017

A 25tn Anniversary celebration of the Growth Hormone Research Society (GRS) occurred in Lisbon, Portugal on May 20th preceding the opening of the European Congress of Endocrinology. The mission of GRS is 'To promote scientific research and clinical advancement in the fields of growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factors (IGFs). GRS has -300 members, both clinicians and basic scientists. Together with the IGF Society, GRS hosts an International Congress every other year; the last of which was in Tel Aviv, November 6-9, 2016 with the next taking place in Seattle, Washington, USA (September, 14-17,2018). GRS has also established relations with the Pituitary Society in which each organization benefits from the efforts of the other. One of the most important functions of GRS is to convene 3 days workshops on different aspects of GH action with experts in the various areas. To date, 13 position papers and consensus statements resulting from these workshops have been published.
