Sabah, Sarawak Use 25 Per Cent of SKR1M Capacity

About 25 percent of the capacity of the 1 Malaysia People's Cable System (SKR1M) has been used by broadband users in Sabah and Sarawak since last June. Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) chairman Tan Sri Dr Halim Shafie said the 3,800km submarine cable has a capacity of up to four terabytes (TB) per second, but the use in the two states only requires one TB per second.
