Demand slowed, this month, in the United States, especially for spot sales. End-of-year destocking is under way. Mill delivery lead times are short. Producers, however, will not give big discounts in order to secure business. European suppliers are making offers, in the US, because prices are higher than in their own market. American mills may try to lift basis values, as alloy surcharges drop, but weak demand is likely to undermine their efforts.
