US cold-rolled coil, galvanized coil follow hot-rolled coil, scrap lower

Prices for domestic cold-rolled coil and hot-dipped galvanized material have slipped along with lower prices in the hot-rolled coil and ferrous scrap markets. Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel cold-rolled coil, fob mill US stood at $36.50 per hundredweight ($730 per ton) on Thursday September 26, down 1.4% from $37 per cwt the week prior and 3.9% from a summer high of $38 per cwt in August. A similar trend played out on the galvanized front.
