Herein, the viscous flow behaviors of Cr-bearing high-titanium melting slag with different MgO contents are evaluated via thermodynamic calculation, melting temperature measurement, viscosity measurement, phase composition, and microcosmic analysis. The melting morphology of slag is observed in situ using the melting point melting rate tester, and the results show that the melting temperature decreases as a function of increasing MgO content. Simultaneously, the viscosity is obtained via the comprehensive melt property tester, which shows that the viscosity change trend is parallel to that of the melting point. FactSage thermodynamic software is used to predict the type and content of the precipitated phase. The composition and microstructure of the actual precipitated phase are assessed using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. Results show that anosovite is the most abundant precipitated phase. Furthermore, with the increase in MgO content, the precipitated contents of perovskite, spinel, and pyroxene increase; however, sphene and anorthite decrease.
