LEWIS UNIVERSITY'S Brother James Gaffhey, FSC Student Center is designed to project an image of a contemporary, forward-thinking university-while at the same time looking back reverently at its aviation history. Named for the university's president emeritus, the focal point of the structural steel building is an 80-ft by 70-ft clear-span exposed steel framed roof over the main dining hall. The unique structural design pays tribute to the Romeoville, Illinois-based university's rich aviation and aeronautics heritage.
