ELECTRIC MILLS, Miss.These days only a few landmarks distinguish the sleepy hamlet of Electric Mills in east-central Mississippi's Kemper County. They include autility pole peeling/treating/storage yard, a cell phone tower, a water tank (for the nearby community of Porter-ville), the Norfolk Southern Railway, and U.S. highway 45, which links the Gulf of Mexico to Lake Superior, a distance of 1,297 miles.
