Climate Control, a Costly Exercise in Futility

I agree with Mr Mike Stephen's article (July 2009) that more discussion and debate should be encouraged on the issue of climate change and the Government's intended policy on how to reduce CO_2 emissions, eventually to be legislated. Though the sceptics are in the minority they would not be able to change the Government's strong belief that CO_2 is a satanic gas. Even so, for this debate to have any meaning, it is important to include the view of the sceptics. In fact, their numbers are more extensive than is generally realised. We have had recorded cold and warm periods since ancient times, like pre-Minoan and Roman. Equally, low and high levels of CO_2 were determined by ice cores and other means. All these were normal global events. Why are we now confronted with the findings that the increase in C02 is considered harmful?
