MPPT Solar Charger capacitor selection

I have a question about your MPPT Solar Charger & Lighting Controller design(February & March 2016;siliconchip.com.au/Series/296).I would like to know why the 2200uF electrolytic capacitors are changed to 470uF for use with 24V solar cells and a 24V battery.Is that for tuning due to the switching frequency required,or due to the physical size of the components? Would 2200uF 50V capacitors work? Also,do you have the source code in C for this project?
