摘要

In the United States, the rate of primary and secondary (P&S) syphilis has increased almost every year since 2001.1 As rates of P&S syphilis increase, a likely consequence will be a parallel increase in the prevalence of adverse health outcomes associated with syphilitic infection such as neurosyphilis. In recent years, several large urban areas in the United States have reported increases in neurosyphilis; however, it is unknown whether these reports are representative of a national trend in neurosyphilis or whether the incidence of neurosyphilis is proportional to what would be expected given the overall increase in early syphilis rates
