Australia revises up 5-vear iron ore export forecasts

Australia's iron ore export forecasts are expected to rise to 902mn t in calendar 2024 from 836mn t and an estimated 867mn t this year, said the Australian government's commodity forecaster. This is slightly up on the five-year outlook provided a year ago when Australia's iron ore shipments were forecast to rise to 894mn t in 2023, whereas the latest estimate is for 903mn t of iron ore exports for 2023, said the Office of the Chief Economist (OCE), which is part of the department of industry.
