The turbo mill screenless processor from Sweed (Gold Hill, Ore.) further separates No. 2 copper wire and other fine wire from the insulation surrounding it. The turbo mill uses a combination of rapid tumbling, forceful air flow, and friction to liberate and pulverize any remaining insulation stuck on the wire. The process also balls the copper into tiny pellet-like pieces that separate easily from the plastic instead of becoming entangled with the plastic, Sweed says. Models range from 40 to 150 hp.
