13 September: Glennon Brothers (Troon)Forest Manager Alex Murray of Glennon Brothers, Troon (formerly known as Adam Wilson & Sons - they bought it in 2008) was our host. They are one of the largest sawmills in the UK, employing over 100 people. They specialise in kiln dried carcassing, fencing, pallet and packaging material, producing around 160,000 cubic metres of sawn timber per year. They harvest most of their timber purchases themselves using contractors. Around 80,000 tonnes (27%) of their timber comes in by sea.
