Russian quotas to remain but US uncertainty continues

Russia is to keep its total meat and poultry import quotas unchanged in 2014 - although ongoing trade issues mean these may again not be fully utilised by eligible suppliers. A decision published by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reveals thatoverall tariff rate quotas (TRQs) for frozen beef and poultry will remain at 530 000 tonnes and 364 OOOt respectively. In-quota market access for chilled beef will stay at 40 OOOt while quotas for pork and pork trimmings are to remain at this year's levels of 400 OOOt and 30 OOOt respectively.
