MNRE Amends Guidelines To Facilitate Fair Bidding For Solar Power Projects

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) recently amended the guidelines for tariff-based competitive bidding process for procurement of power from grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) projects. Prices of solar power have plummeted and this calls for a delicate balance to proceed to the satisfaction of the entire chain. To remove any ambiguity, the MNRE has stated, "Change in the rates of any taxes as mentioned in clause 5.7.2 of Guidelines for Tariff Based Competitive Bidding Process for Procurement of Power from Grid Connected Solar PV Power Projects, includes change in rates of taxes, duties and cess".
