Somerton prepares for first wells

It won't be until late this year that Somerton Energy drills its first two wells, but in the meantime the new team has been sinking its teeth into fraccing and testing of the Wombat-4 tight gas well within the Gippsland Basin, and familiarising itself with its Otway Basin holdings for the long-term. Somerton and its alliance partner Beach Energy have hired FrOG Tech and RISC to conduct studies into the shale prospectivity of the Otway Basin.
