Norwest Energy, an early mover in unconventional Perth Basin exploration, is about to undertake a hydraulic fracture stimulation and flow test of its Arrowsmith-2 well in the northern Perth Basin on EP413 (27.945% and operator). It is the first high impact shale gas focussed frac program in the region, and analysts at Hartleys believe that the program should be at least a technical success as the earlier Arrowsmith-1 well flowed at 4mmcfpd in a low-permeability reservoir, while core and log analysis from Arrowsmith-2 indicated that all four zones are suitable for fracture stimulation.
