In the automotive sector, car profiles play both a functional and an aesthetic role due to their location on the body of the car. The main task of sealing systems for doors, windows and trunks is to prevent the passage of water from the outside to the inside. This goal is accomplished by either returning or rerouting water. A secondary goal is to keep interior air in. It saves energy on heating and air conditioning. Another goal is to minimize external noise.
