Investment in renewable energy: What policymakers must do to make it happen

Investment in renewable energy needs to increase annually by 150%-and, cumulatively, by about US$16 trillion between 2015 and 2050 according to the International Energy Agency (IEA)-to achieve the Paris Climate Agreement goal of limiting temperature rise to below 2°C by 2050. This target is also backed by the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 on affordable and clean energy.
