Association of the Affordable Care Act Dependent Coverage Provision With Prenatal Care Use and Birth Outcomes

The dependent coverage provision of the Affordable Care Act, implemented in September 2010, allows young adults to remain on their parent's health insurance plan until their 26th birthday. Studies have found that this provision increased preventative care, expanded insurance, and increased self-reported health among young adults.
