The genomic DNA of 9 Brassica juncea genotypes representing four low and five high erucic acid containing genotypes were used as templates in RAPD reactions. Amplification with 20 decamer primers generated 205 polymorphic products. Genetic similarities based on RAPD profile were estimated via Jaccard's coefficient and then a cluster analysis was performed on the data (NTSYSpc). Each genotype was clearly identified and separated from the others. Our results showed that RAPD technology is a rapid, precise and sensitive technique for identification of Brassica juncea genotypes.
