Mammography Practice Analysis: Evolution of an Essential Imaging Discipline

The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists' (ARRT) mission is to promote high patient-care standards by recognizing qualified individuals in medical imaging, interventional procedures; and radiation therapy. The process of recognizing qualified individuals includes having a definition of what it means to be qualified that is consistent with current practice in a given discipline. ARRT periodically conducts a practice analysis, or job analysis, in each of its disciplines so that the requirements of each certification and registration program are current. This is best practice for creden-tialing organizations as defined by the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing. A credential-ing organization has a responsibility to update its requirements periodically to match the practice of ever-changing medical professions.
