The projected course for Tropical Storm Nate has shifted to the west, putting the mouth of the Mississippi River in the possibly landfall zone

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) said TS Nate was near the coast of Nicaragua early Thursday, bringing flooding rains over portions of Central America. The storm was moving to the northwest at about 8 mph with top winds of 40 mph. The NHC said it is advising all marine and offshore energy interests in the Central and Eastern Gulf of Mexico to monitor the storm closely.
