In its March short-term energy outlook, EIA forecasts that dry gas production will average 90.7 billion cubic feet per day in 2019, up 7.4 Bcf/d from last year, and continue rising in 2020 to average 92 Bcf/d. Demand will grow as well, particularly due to new LNG export capacity expected to come on line in the second and third quarters. Even so, supply is expected to outpace consumption, allowing depleted storage caverns to return to near five-year averages.
