Methane Fermentation of night soil Sludge and Kitchen Waste Mixture

NKK has developed a new treatment process (trade name: RENAISSA system), in which mixture of night soil sludge and kitchen waste are digested under anaerobic condition. This system produces energy and compost for agricultural use. This paper describes some characteristics of the new process obtained in the pilot plant investigation conducted from May 1998 to February 1999.
