The vertical vibration characteristic of the drive on an electric wheelchair --road surface conditions and vibration characteristic

For physically handicapped or old people who have a handicap in movement, the four wheels electric wheelchair has become important increasingly as one means to support the movement. However, the structure of the vehicle etc. still does not fully fill the requirements of users because of the restriction of support of the government. Moreover, there are many problems also about the road as environment to use, and the barrier free environment is little made. In such conditions, many useful studies are conducted for the realization of better vehicles and road conditions. This study proposes the concrete plans of the improvement of the vehicles with little influence of vibration, in order to materialize the good comfortable electric wheelchair which is suited to the request of users. This paper deals with an experimental study on the relation between the vibration characteristics transmitted to a driver from the different road surfaces and the feeling of the driver.
