Shared governance strategic plan creation and implementation

The division of nursing at a large, free-standing Magnet? recognized pediatric hospital decided to create a strategic plan for its shared governance councils to drive change. With the mindset that the constant strengthening and growth of the Magnet program helps organizations create a culture of inquiry, learning, and excellence, we examined our shared governance structure, as well as the work of the shared governance councils. As part of our assessment, we identified the need to establish priorities for our formal shared governance structure.
