Transposing European Legislation into National Law

The Internal Market's legal framework consists of nearly 1,800 legislative measures which taken together are intended to promote throughout the Union a harmonious and balanced development of economic activities and sustainable growth. Most of these measures are directives that Member States must transpose into their own national legislation within a jointly agreed deadline.
