摘要

Texas energy industry veteran James V. Walzel has seen the state's natural gas business change significantly in the past half century. What strikes him most is the cost and size of new pipelines and the hurdles to getting them built today, he told Natural Gas Week in an interview. For example, "the Oasis Pipeline is a small line today," he said of the 36-inch, 600-mile line that Houston Pipe Line (HPL) and partners Dow Chemical and Tenngasco built in the early 1970s from Waha in the Permian Basin to the Katy Hub, just west of Houston.
