California NGV Group Plans Active Year On Legislative, Regulatory Fronts

In the transportation arena, as California goes, so goes the nation. The California NGV Coalition (CNGV), led by station-builder Clean Energy and utility Southern California Gas, said it will be prioritizing "intensive engagement" with California's regulatory process during the year ahead. California, by sheer size, is key to influencing national trends in the adoption of compressed natural gas (CNG) and LNG-powered vehicles. Among other initiatives, the group wants to extend incentive funding for NGVs, improve existing programs and encourage investments in natural gas fueling technologies. It also plans to sponsor near-zero-emission vehicle legislation.
