PG&E Guilty in Fire Deaths

Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) last week entered guilty pleas for 84 counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with an equipment fire that led to the massive Camp Fire in 2018 that destroyed the town of Paradise, California. PG&E CEO Bill Johnion entered the pleas during a hearing last week the Butte County courthouse. The utility, which has been in bankruptcy since early 2019, also pleaded guilty to one felony count of unlawfully starting a fire (NGW Dec.23'19).
