摘要

Gas-focused companies dominated US M&A during the second quarter, and the trend is unlikely to change during the next 18 to 24 months. Gas deals have outpaced those of oil throughout 2020, accounting for 49% of deal flow compared to oil's 39% share, according to consultancy Enervus. Four of the top five deals by value made between April and June involved gas assets: EQT, Antero Resources and Royal Dutch Shell sold Appalachian assets worth a total $1,068 billion, while Alta Mesa Resources divested assets worth $160 million.
