The latest: Japanese power company Tohoku Electric became the latest buyer of LNG from Mozambique’s Area 1. Texas-based Anadarko signed a sales and purchase agreement (SPA) with Tohoku Electric for up to 0.28 million tons per year (mtpa) of LNG for 15 years, from the date the LNG facility comes online in the early 2020s.
