BNDES TO FINANCE GRUPO CERRAD?O EXPANSION PROJECTS

The national development bank BNDES approved a BRL49.3 mln (USD1=BRL3.87) financing for Usina Cerradao. The company has plans to expand cogeneration capacity at Usina Cerradao to 105 MWel from a current 55, translating into exports of 250,000 MWhel p.a. Moreover, daily ethanol production capacity is to be increased from 600,000 litres to 1.850 mln. With the expansion, the mill could devote 100% of its sugarcane crush to ethanol production.
