Petrobras co-processed plant oil at REPAR unit America Brazil

Oil major Petrobras successfully concluded industrial-scale tests for co-processing renewable feedstock with fossil diesel at its Presidente Getulio Vargas Refinery in Araucaria, Parana (REPAR). Around 2 mln litres of soyoil were co-processed in a 40 mln litre fuel cargo. Commercial sale of renewable diesel, however, must await regulation by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). The company is seeking authorization of the product to qualify for the biodiesel blending obligation (B-12 currently), something heavily opposed by FAME producers.
