LANSING,Mich.-Michigan Department of Natural Resources(DNR)Director Dan Eichinger gave formal approval for the proposed Wednesday,Oct.30 auction sale of oil and gas lease rights to state of Michigan-owned minerals to proceed at the Sept.12 meeting of the Michigan Natural Resources Commission(NRC)at Northern Michigan University in Marquette.An auction catalog made available last week by the DNR's Office of Minerals Management(OMM)provided the first detailed look at acreage offerings to be available at the second state lease auction of 2019.A complete listing of all tracts to be offered at the Oct.30 auction sale appears beginning on the next page.The total offering of 16,036.23 acres will be the largest to be made available since October of 2017,when more than 30,000 acres were offered.
