This paper refers to an efficient system for Al-wire injection in the hot steel flow produced by B.O.F. procedure, in view of steel dezoxidizing and alloying. This system allows the Al-wire injection at a speed providing the short time melting of a required quantity, aluminium reacting only with the oxygen dissolved in the molten steel. In principle, the system consists of an assembly of pinch rolls driven by a motor via a reduction gear, a double support intended for sustaining and unwinding of the Al-wire coils, a telescopic guide for Al-wire injection in the ladle, as well as an automation and control system.
