ASM launches 'Emerging Professionals' program

In recognition of the importance of young professionals to the future of ASM International, the society is seeking ASM members who graduated within the past five years to make up the first class of Emerging Professionals. Each year, this committee will organize and execute a program to be held during the ASM Annual Meeting, which takes place at the Materials Science & Technology (MS&T) event. These young professionals will obtain first-hand experience with the inner workings of an ASM committee, while having the opportunity to interact with and learn from a diverse group of experienced professionals who are acknowledged leaders within ASM and the materials community. This program is designed to build loyalty among emerging professionals to ASM International. The society has identified a need to embrace young professionals and assist them in the transition from student member to professional member. ASM will pay up to 500 dollars for hotel and up to 500 dollars for travel to attend the annual meeting.
