Offender-victim dynamics after sexual abuse during psychoanalytical training On metabolization of guilt, outrage and helplessness

For a long time the fatal effects of sexual boundary violations during psychotherapy training were only hesitantly addressed and discussed. The article traces the conflicts and challenges, which are raised after boundary violating behavior in the psychotherapy training setting: in the offender, the victim and the surrounding system. The possibilities for institutional engagement are presented and discussed with reference to the public attempts at guilt processing by the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
